A message from the Rosenberg Family

“Dear friends and family,
It is with great sorrow that our family needs to inform you that our beloved mother, grandmother & “mother-outlaw” Diana ( Dee-Dee, “Baba Dee”, “Baba the Hut”) passed away in her home Friday night, June 1st 2012 at 7pm, surrounded by her family and those closest to her. She went peacefully and in the months leading up to her death she was as happy as she’s ever been; glowing in fact — till her last breath. It was among her last wishes that we convey her love and gratitude to her friends & family near and far. She lived three years one month and four days past her diagnosis of Pancreatic cancer. During that time she inspired and awed those around her, using her enormous gifts to complete her life’s work.
Miraculously, one week before she passed away, her two volume masterpiece “Secrets of the Ancient Skies” was premiered at The United Astrologers Convention in New Orleans, an event she had lectured at for many years. (You can find out more about the book here or on Facebook).
When she was invited in June of 2011 to lecture on May 24th of 2012 her doctor made it clear to her that there was no chance she would make it. As you may know mom doesn’t like to be told what to do. So, true to form, she not only decided she would agree to be a featured speaker at the conference, but also that her book would be finished and that she’d be there to sign copies. She booked her plane ticket and her hotel room. Thus began her year long countdown. Three weeks ago a day was spent shopping for clothes for her trip. That same evening her graphic designer surprised her with the first physical copies of her book hot off the presses. The next morning she became gravely ill.
So… she didn’t make it to New Orleans. But she lived to hold in her hands the first published volumes, putting a smile on her face as big and as beautiful as we’d ever seen.
In the last few days of her life she was able to see photos & video of her colleagues holding their copies and saying goodbye. She died, having had the pleasure of knowing that the first run had sold out in 48 hours. And she lived, striving endlessly to be the best friend, mother and grandmother that she could possibly be. In her final years, her complaints were limited as her love grew limitless.
And so we close in celebration of our beloved mother and grandmother.
May your soul travel to the stars that you loved so much.”

This photo was taken just days before her passing.  Diana, grandson Eli and her book.
